Gulf Race Fuels has appointed Fuzz Townshend’s Classic Oils as the UK Distributor for its new range of specialist racing fuels. The new range includes classic and storage fuels to address corrosion and other issues caused by modern pump petrol in older cars, as well as some of the most advanced racing blends available anywhere. The range offers formulas all the way up to 116 octane for those wanting ultra-high performance.
Celebrity mechanic Fuzz Townshend, who stars in National Geographic’s Car SOS and co-owns Classic Oils Ltd, is excited about the new venture: “Ever since I watched Gulf-liveried racing cars winning everything when I was a boy,” he says, “I’ve loved their iconic colour-scheme and logo – it’s synonymous with winning, and we like working with winners!”
Classic Oils is already establishing a network of stockists throughout the UK, and aims to be selling Gulf Race Fuels’ new formulas trackside at several classic and racing events this year. Furthermore, the entire range is also available from the supplier’s base at Bicester Heritage. “Top quality fuel is becoming even more essential for all of us,” adds Fuzz. “And now with Gulf on-board, we can offer a high-quality range of products from a brand we all trust and love.”
Mark Ticen, Director of Operations for Gulf Race Fuels, is philosophical about the state of motorsport and new partnership: “Obviously not much motorsport has happened since we announced our return to the grid back in February 2020. But, we’ve put that extra time to good use, formulating more fuel blends ready for when racing and rallying get going again,” he says. “It’s important we remain ahead of the game and that racers know we are ready to help as soon as they return. We look forward to working with Fuzz’s team to achieve this and further accelerate our mission to get back to the front of motorsport.”
Clearly undaunted by the current pause in motorsport, Classic’ already has a selection of Gulf Race Fuel’s potent formulations in stock for retail and wholesale customers. To find out more, contact your local Classic Oils stockist or visit www.classic-oils.net.
